Beginners Classes
We offer a fencing course for the follow types of beginner in Salle Hadalin Fencing Club :
- adults who have never tried fencing before and want to take it up
- adults who may have done a little fencing before and want to start again
We offer regular fencing beginner classes for adults. Our beginner fencing classes are held at the club on Tuesday evenings, from 7:30pm-8.30pm.
You'll learn about the history of fencing, how to hold the sword, basic bladework and footwork. You'll also learn basic attacking and defensive techniques in fencing. The classes are conducted in groups, often with work in pairs. Towards the end of the course you'll be able to have an electric bout yourself!
The evening starts at 7:30pm for the group warm-up and footwork session, followed by bladework, ending at 8.30pm. For the class, you'll need to wear trainers, a t-shirt, and tracksuit bottoms (shorts not allowed). All other fencing equipment is provided. There are changing rooms and showers at the venue, and you may want to bring a bottle of water with you.

The cost for your five-week course is just £50 per person (approximately 5 hours of fencing). Groups no larger than 12 people, places are allocated on a first come, first serve basis, and are limited.
You'll learn about the history of fencing, how to hold the sword, basic bladework and footwork. You'll also learn basic attacking and defensive techniques in fencing. The classes are conducted in groups, often with work in pairs. Towards the end of the course you'll be able to have an electric bout yourself!
Places are limited booking is essential!

No refunds are given by any circumstances
Aged over 14 years only
Once you have completed a beginners course, you can progress to join the club. At this stage you will be required to become a full member of the British Fencing Association. Visit www.britishfencing.com or call 020 8742 3032.
Full membership of this organisation will give you insurance cover allowing you to fence at competitions and clubs all over the UK.
